I get asked often when meeting with a new client looking to purchase a home about if shopping around for a mortgage will effect their credit. I have spoke with experts in the credit repair industry and their answer is no. When you are shopping around for a mortgage the credit bureau knows you are shopping for the best rate and loan package so they only count them as one hard inquiry on your credit even if you have multiple lenders pull your credit.
